Why do we prefer implant denture restoration for missing teeth?

Why do we prefer implant prosthesis for missing teeth? Missing teeth can affect the basic oral functions such as chewing, pronunciation, and aesthetics. In my medical practice for nearly 30 years, I have used fixed, removable, implant and its variants such as flexible denture, attachment and bonded denture for many patients. Although, the removable denture is economical and can solve some of the problems, it has been abandoned by many patients due to limitations such as large size, uncomfortable use, and low chewing efficiency. Fixed dentures do not have the disadvantages of removable dentures, but grinding out a relatively large amount of their own dental tissue confuses many patients, who are often torn when choosing a fixed denture. Of course, if the abutment tooth is missing a lot and has had root canal treatment itself, it should not be a pity to grind out the tooth tissue. In recent years, I have carried out a large number of implant denture restorations and have learned that the advantages are outstanding: no need to grind the adjacent natural teeth; comfort close to natural teeth compared to removable dentures without foreign body sensation, more aesthetic and, no pronunciation and chewing disorders can produce functional stimulation of the alveolar bone and prevent alveolar bone resorption. In case of failure, it is possible to start over. The excellent biocompatibility of the material will not have adverse effects on the body.
