Can menopausal women cause painful intercourse?

Menopausal women are generally known to cause painful intercourse. Menopause in women also means the onset of menopause. The average age of menopause for women is 48 to 50 years old. In the 2 to 8 years before menopause, women experience hot flashes, dizziness, irritability, depression and insomnia, dry skin, atrophy of the genitourinary tract, decreased libido, and painful intercourse due to the gradual decline of ovarian function and decrease in estrogen and luteinizing hormone. Studies have also found that vaginal dysfunction reduces blood flow in women during menopausal time, making vaginal dryness and infection more likely. The main reason why menopausal women experience painful intercourse is due to a decrease in hormone production, resulting in insufficient lubrication in the vagina. It is recommended that menopausal women take estrogen supplements under the guidance of their doctor to reduce or relieve symptoms.
