Can you turn over with a broken rib?

It is possible to turn over with a rib fracture, and there may be pain and discomfort when turning over. The rib fracture needs to be fixed with a chest strap in time after the rib fracture is fixed, and then the pain will be less severe when you turn over. A simple rib fracture can be fixed so that you can gradually get up and move around without continuous bed rest. In case of multiple rib fractures, or if the condition is too severe to get up, turning is recommended once every 2 hours or so, as not turning for a long time may cause complications such as bedsores. For rib fractures, try to avoid turning the affected side against the bed and try to keep the affected side up. If the rib fracture is bilateral, try to turn to the side with the milder condition. Try to move slowly during the turning process, and use a posture pad or other aid. The pain will be significantly relieved about 1 month after the injury and you can basically turn over normally.
