How to check for undifferentiated somatoform disorder

Common symptoms in patients with undifferentiated somatoform disorder include fatigue and weakness, lack of appetite, and gastrointestinal or urinary tract discomfort. This clinical type can be seen as an atypical somatization disorder. Its symptoms are less extensive and less abundant than those of somatization disorder, and its duration is not always longer than 2 years. The examination items of undifferentiated somatoform disorder are mainly blood analysis and symptom criteria. 1. Symptom criteria: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria of neurosis. (2) Somatic symptoms are predominant, with at least one of the following: (1) excessive concern for somatic symptoms (the severity is obviously disproportionate to the actual situation), but not delusional; (2) excessive concern for physical health, such as excessive concern for physiological phenomena and abnormal sensations that usually occur, but not delusional. (3) Repeatedly seeking medical treatment or requesting medical examination, but the negative result of the examination and the reasonable explanation of the doctor cannot dispel their concerns. 2. Severity criteria: Impaired social function. 3.Exclusion criteria: exclude other neurotic disorders, depression, schizophrenia and paranoid psychotic disorders, etc. 4.Criteria of disease duration: meeting the criteria of symptoms has been at least 3 months, somatoform disorder requires at least 2 years, undifferentiated somatoform disorder and somatoform pain disorder requires at least half a year.
