Hearing loss is significantly related to age. The elderly population will experience hearing loss with age, which is commonly referred to as senile deafness, and if it affects communication, it needs to be seen in a hospital and can be treated with hearing aids. In addition, hearing loss in some patients is not significantly related to age and is commonly seen in the following conditions: 1. chronic otitis media, due to recurrent inflammation, patients may experience gradual hearing loss; 2. people who are frequently exposed to noisy environments can cause irreversible damage to inner ear hair cells, which in turn leads to hearing loss; 3. congenital dysplasia of the auditory system, systemic diseases, such as diabetes, and 4. People who frequently use ototoxic drugs, or those who lead an irregular life and work under high pressure are prone to hearing loss. Therefore, for patients with hearing loss caused by organic diseases, the primary disease needs to be treated, and patients are advised to seek medical advice in a timely manner.
