Treatment of deaf severe valvular disease

  Recently, a deaf patient with severe heart valve disease was successfully operated and discharged from the hospital after surgery by the Department of Quadruple Surgery (Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery).  Yan Mouhao, male, 41 years old, from Puning, Guangdong, was admitted to our comprehensive department on June 24, 2014 due to “palpitations and shortness of breath after repeated exertion for 3 years, aggravated for 2 months”, and was diagnosed as “1 severe infected heart valve disease: mitral valve anterior leaflet tendon rupture and severe closure insufficiency, aortic valve right coronary valve prolapse perforation and severe closure insufficiency, tricuspid valve severe closure insufficiency, giant heart (left ventricular end-diastolic 78mm), severe pulmonary hypertension, cardiac function class III, 2 congenital deafness. After consultation with Director Xie Cuixian of the Department of Surgery, the patient was referred to the Department of Surgery on June 30, 2014, and after adequate preoperative preparation, the patient underwent mitral valve and aortic valve mechanical valve replacement with tricuspid valvuloplasty under general anesthesia in extracorporeal circulation on July 22, 2014, which was very successful and recovered smoothly after surgery and was discharged on August 13, 2014. The patient and his family were very satisfied and thanked the director and all the medical staff.  According to Director Xie Cuixian, the successful surgery and smooth recovery of this type of critically ill patient fully reflects the comprehensive strength of our cardiovascular surgery team and the team’s spirit of love; at present, our heart valve replacement surgery is very mature and widely praised and commended by patients. In recent years, heart valve disease is still common, rheumatic heart valve disease is the most common, other causes include degenerative, infectious and congenital, etc. Clinically, patients with symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, weakness, cough or swelling or heart murmurs on auscultation or suspected heart valve disease should have a heart ultrasound and electrocardiogram and go to a specialist, early detection, early diagnosis, early treatment, to avoid It should be detected, diagnosed and treated early to avoid serious complications and even delayed surgery.
