The diagnostic usage of “frozen shoulder” is rather confusing, and there are three general meanings: (1) pain in the shoulder, which is not clearly diagnosed, so that an uninformed diagnosis is given, which is still quite common in China. 2. It refers to the pain syndrome that causes shoulder joint dysfunction, i.e. “frozen shoulder” in the broad sense, which has been used less and less and replaced by more accurate diagnostic terms: rotator cuff tear, calcific supraspinatus tendonitis, subacromial bursitis, biceps longus tendon tenosynovitis, rostral synovial or rostro-humeral ligamentitis, frozen shoulder, acromioclavicular arthritis, and suprascapular nerve entrapment syndrome. The diagnosis of suprascapular nerve entrapment syndrome, subacromial impingement syndrome and other specific localization and characterization. 3.Solely refers to “frozen shoulder”.
