Treatment of Eye Stones

Ophthalmic stones are mostly conjunctival stones, which can be removed surgically and prevented from infection by using antibiotic eye drops as prescribed by the doctor. Conjunctival stones are a common ophthalmic disease that can develop in patients of any age. They are yellowish-white particles that form as a result of the deposition of cellular metabolites and lipids in the conjunctival tissue. When conjunctival stones grow gradually and are exposed on the surface of the conjunctiva, they will rub the cornea with the movement of the eyelid, causing symptoms such as foreign body sensation in the eye, which can be ameliorated by surgical removal of the stones. It is recommended that patients with conjunctival stones consult a doctor in time to determine the location and number of stones under the magnification of a slit lamp microscope, and then use a sterile needle to remove the stones. After the operation, patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use antibiotic eye drops to prevent infection, such as levofloxacin eye drops, tobramycin eye drops and so on.
