It is unfortunate to have a malignant tumor, but it is good to do treatment, and it is good to do surgery to remove the existing lesion intact. The surgeon’s ability to remove the lesion is to temporarily clear the way for the medical oncologist and create conditions for subsequent treatment. Otherwise, in the case of gastric cancer, gastrointestinal bleeding and obstruction will seriously limit the subsequent treatment. For systemic diseases, the long-term efficacy of local treatment such as surgery and radiotherapy alone is not good enough, this is not appendicitis, who would do chemotherapy or take Chinese medicine after surgery for benign diseases like appendicitis? Because malignant tumors have the trouble of easy recurrence and metastasis, which can be transferred to the whole body through blood and lymphatic pathways. The pathology report after surgery can tell us how far the disease has developed at the time of surgery, so that we can better formulate further treatment plans. After surgery to remove the lesion, the whole body is cleared with chemotherapy if needed. Just as capable people tend to be impatient, useful drugs often have side effects, as does chemotherapy, which, in killing malignant cells, can also cause further suppression of immune function. But what if we choke on it? Maybe there’s even less chance. It’s a pity to give up on treatment. We often have patients’ families telling us about a miracle that had happened to whoever. In fact, some of our doctors have performed miracles in their careers, but since it’s a miracle, it means it’s rare, and we can only take the treatment seriously, instead of shying away and waiting passively for the miracle to hit us. The analysis and purification of the active ingredients of Chinese medicine is a world-class problem, and the slow onset of Chinese medicine is related to the low concentration of tonics. The pathogenic basis of low immune function has to be improved by traditional Chinese medicine. This repair process takes time and cannot be achieved overnight, and traditional Chinese medicine is slow, so traditional Chinese medicine treatment should be started as early as possible after the diagnosis of tumor, usually after the surgical incision has grown. The treatment principle of Chinese medicine is to support and regulate immunity and anti-tumor. Western doctors are very worried that the use of Chinese medicine too hard in chemotherapy will cause big damage. In fact, some of our doctors treat chemotherapy drugs as one of our whole Chinese medicine prescriptions to drive away evil and kill toxins, and the drugs will be changed during chemotherapy. This way, the use of Chinese herbs during chemotherapy does not harm the righteousness, but can also repair the problem of low immune function as early as possible, and can also alleviate the suppression of immune function by chemotherapy. We all understand that treatment has to be early. Chinese medicine is slow, so does it have to be even earlier? A good doctor uses medicine like a chess game, thinking of three or five moves when taking the first step, and will gradually adjust the prescription. Many patients are physically weak, and this includes the function of the spleen and stomach. Food and medicine taken orally need to be digested and absorbed by the spleen and stomach before they can be transported throughout the body to take effect. If the spleen and stomach are weak, the effect of oral herbal medicine may be diminished, and the availability of corrective, anti-tumor herbal injections can help improve this situation. Sometimes we add intravenous drips of Chinese herbal medicine to support the immune regulator in between chemotherapy sessions for patients to strengthen the immune regulator along with chemotherapy drugs and herbal tonics. If the patient has a late stage of disease, we may also add anti-tumor herbal injections in addition to the Fu Zheng injections to enhance the efficacy of the treatment after the full course of chemotherapy is completed. At present, the treatment for malignant tumors is holistic. After diagnosis, surgery and radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the main treatments in Western medicine, and Chinese medicine mainly plays an auxiliary role; after the completion of Western medicine treatment, Chinese medicine is the main treatment, and oral tonics and Chinese medicine injections can be used in combination if needed. Only the combination of local treatment (surgery, radiotherapy) and systemic treatment (intravenous chemotherapy, traditional Chinese medicine) and the combination of Chinese and Western medicine can achieve better results. While trying to improve the patient’s quality of life, the chances of recurrence and metastasis are minimized. In addition to drug treatment, the regulation of emotion, diet and life style is also essential.
