How to manage after auricular trauma?

The completely severed auricular tissue should not be discarded, but should be preserved and brought back to the hospital with the patient in time. If the auricle is not completely severed, it should be cleaned and sutured in time. When cleaning the auricle, saline should be used to rinse it repeatedly to remove foreign bodies. When suturing, trim the wound edge, try to preserve the soft tissue, and use a small needle and fine thread to accurately align the sutures. The sutures should not penetrate the cartilage and the exposed cartilage must be covered with skin. If there is a partial loss of skin, the cartilage can be slightly trimmed and then sutured in alignment. If the auricle is completely severed and does not exceed 5 hours, the severed ear can be cleaned with saline and soaked in antibiotic solution for 15-20 minutes, then sutured in place and anti-infection treatment can be strengthened. For auricular hematoma, the accumulated blood should be drawn out with a syringe under aseptic operation and pressure bandaged. Lacerations of the auricle should be injected with tetanus antitoxin as appropriate.
