Pneumonia has no uniform name in TCM and is more commonly called wind-warm lung-heat disease when the name of the disease is approved. Wind-warm lung-heat disease, when the school of warmth was not fully formed, may appear in cough disease, asthma, and pulmonary carbuncle. Pneumonia in TCM is treated according to symptoms, when cough is predominant, it is within the treatment of cough disease; when breath-holding is predominant and wheezing is more severe, it is within the category of wheezing; when inflammation is more severe and canker sores become pus, it is within the treatment of canker sores. When treating pneumonia in TCM, as with other diseases, it is important to identify and treat the evidence.
