Chinese Expert Consensus on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Therapy for Parkinson’s Disease Indications for DBS therapy 1. primary Parkinson’s disease; 2. levodopa was once taken with good results; 3. medication efficacy has been significantly reduced or severe motor fluctuations or anisotropia have occurred, affecting the quality of life; 4. dementia and severe mental illness are excluded. Patient’s age 1. patient’s age should not exceed 75 years; 2. may be relaxed to about 80 years after individualized assessment of benefit and risk; 3. patients with predominantly severe tremor may be appropriately relaxed.
