How long can you live with progeria?

Patients with progeria typically live to 7-20 years of age, with studies reporting an average survival age of 13 years. Progeria is a disease caused by genetic mutations, the pathogenesis of which is still unclear, and there is no effective treatment. It is commonly seen in children, manifesting as aging and failure of body organs during childhood, but mental development is no different from that of normal children, with tooth loss, skin wrinkles, atherosclerosis and various cardiovascular diseases, and aging at a rate five times faster than that of normal people. Survival is individually variable, generally living to 7-20 years of age. Some studies have shown that the average survival age of patients with progeria is 13 years. Prompt and effective intervention of patients presenting with symptoms may prolong their survival. Progeria is a rare disease, and such patients age rapidly, so it is important to provide early symptomatic management of problems in the function of various organs.
