Can corns heal on their own?

Whether corns can disappear on their own depends on the specific severity, and cannot be generalized. Corns are mainly abnormal keratosis-type diseases formed by extrusion and repeated friction. Corns can form a conical cuticle on the surface of the skin, and the tip of the vertebrae just tops the deep subcutaneous soft tissue, so the patient’s feet can be painful when wearing uncomfortable shoes for a long time. If the corns symptoms are mild and the patient wears looser, more comfortable shoes, the painful symptoms can gradually disappear as time passes and the abnormal keratinized cuticle will gradually peel off with skin metabolism, while no new corns are produced. However, the recovery time is slow, usually taking about 1 year. If the symptoms of corns are more serious, or even difficult to walk, and cannot be relieved simply by correcting bad habits, you need to go to a dermatologist for treatment through topical medication and surgical removal. If corns are recurrent in daily life, they need to be taken seriously and may be due to plantar warts. In addition, not all pain in the foot is caused by corns, usually should be observed more often whether the foot deformity, if there is deformity, need to promptly go to the orthopedic or plastic surgery for corrective treatment.
