Dexamethasone is not a treatment for impotence.
Dexamethasone, as an adrenocorticotropic hormone drug, is mainly used for anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, immunosuppressive, and anti-shock.
The drug is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to dexamethasone and glucocorticoids, allergic to sulfites, have a history of severe psychiatric disorders, have active peptic ulcers, have uncontrolled viral, bacterial, and fungal infections, and have severe high blood pressure and glaucoma.
Dexamethasone also inhibits the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, reducing the level of sex hormones in the body, which is not conducive to the treatment of impotence.
Impotence is erectile dysfunction, and when impotence is present or suspected it needs to be treated by a doctor. Treatment includes lifestyle improvement, treatment of underlying diseases, psychological counseling, and the use of medications such as phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors and androgens under the direction of a doctor.
