What’s wrong with snoring in late pregnancy?

Sleep snoring in late pregnancy may be related to weight gain during pregnancy and sleeping position.
1. Weight gain during pregnancy: the weight of pregnant women increases greatly throughout pregnancy, and the soft tissues around the airway also thicken accordingly, which will produce pressure on the airway, resulting in hypoventilation and sleep snoring; in late pregnancy, when the fetus develops and matures, the uterus grows in size, and the abdominal pressure rises, which presses on the chest, and also results in breathlessness and sleep snoring.
2. Sleeping position: late pregnancy pregnant women are recommended to sleep on the side, which can reduce the pressure of the uterus on the inferior vena cava, the airway is relatively more open, pregnant women and the fetus are good.
Sleep snoring in late pregnancy needs to be determined according to the severity of snoring to determine whether further treatment is needed, postpartum weight loss can be relieved. However, a very small number of pregnant women who have gained too much weight may experience apnea while sleeping, in which case special attention needs to be paid to weight control, oxygen inhalation or timely hospitalization if necessary.
