Newborn babies spitting up may be caused by physiological factors, such as imperfect development of the gastrointestinal tract, but also need to consider pathological factors such as congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, intestinal obstruction and other diseases, can be treated with general treatment such as adjusting the feeding mode, surgical treatment, fasting, gastrointestinal decompression and so on.
1. Physiological factors: Due to the imperfect development of the gastrointestinal tract and the horizontal position of the infant stomach, the capacity of the infant is relatively small, thus it is easy to spit up. This can be improved by adjusting the feeding method, such as letting the baby’s body tilt 45 degrees for feeding, and burping appropriately after feeding. As the baby grows, the spitting up situation will improve significantly.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis: congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is due to infant pyloric muscle hypertrophy and edema caused by the obstruction of the output tract and thus lead to newborn babies spitting up, can be used pyloric annuloplasty for treatment.
(2) intestinal obstruction: newborn babies spit up with crying, abdominal distension, anus stop venting or defecation and other symptoms may be intestinal obstruction, need to consult the hospital in a timely manner, feasible X-ray examination to clarify the cause of the disease. If it is mechanical intestinal obstruction need to perform surgical treatment, if it is power intestinal obstruction can be used fasting, gastrointestinal decompression and other therapeutic methods, most of them can be improved.
There are many reasons why newborn babies spit up, so it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examinations, clarify the cause of the disease, and treat the cause of the disease.
