What to do about lung nodules in the elderly

Elderly pulmonary nodules can be treated with physiotherapy, medication and surgery to relieve symptoms. 1. Physiotherapy: For the symptoms of coughing and sputum in elderly pulmonary nodules, nebulized inhalation can be used to moisten the airways and humidify the sputum to promote sputum discharge and alleviate the symptoms of coughing. 2. Medication: If the lung nodules are caused by bacterial or viral infection, you can take some antibiotics such as cefixime and antiviral drugs such as ribavirin, etc. If it is caused by tuberculosis infection, you should follow the doctor’s instructions to actively carry out anti-tuberculosis treatment, commonly used anti-tuberculosis drugs, including rifampicin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, streptomycin and so on. 3. Surgery: If lung nodules are caused by lung tumors, especially malignant tumors, or highly suspected malignant lung nodules, surgical treatment, such as TV-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, should be taken as early as possible. Some of the lung nodules in elderly patients are residual lesions and have no special symptoms, regular review is sufficient. It is recommended that patients go to the hospital for timely examination to identify the cause of the disease and treat according to the condition.
