Scalding scars on the legs can be treated with medication and freezing if the area is small, or with laser and implant surgery if the scars are large. Scalding scars are caused by hot liquids and vapors that damage the entire layer of skin tissue, resulting in the proliferation of fibrous connective tissues that produce scars. For patients with smaller scars, they can be treated with medications such as Mucopolysaccharides Polysulfonate Cream, Sodium Allantoin Heparin Gel, Silicone Gel, and can also be repaired with cryotherapy. For patients with large scars, laser irradiation of the scarred skin tissue can be used to cause necrosis and metabolism of the scarred tissue, and silicone gel with pressure therapy, scar abrasion and other methods to treat scars. If you have burned your leg and formed a scar, please follow your doctor’s instructions for treatment.
