Facial folliculitis can be treated with general therapy, topical medications, oral medications, and surgery. Folliculitis is mainly caused by bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infections that cause inflammatory reactions in hair follicles.
1. General treatment: usually pay attention to keep the skin clean and dry, avoid scratching the local skin, to prevent self-infection or secondary infection, do not eat or eat less easy to sweat and stimulating food, maintain a regular life, avoid staying up late, avoid too much pressure or mental tension.
2. Topical medication: for mild symptoms, topical antibiotic treatment, such as mupirocin ointment, fusidic acid cream, etc.; if there is a fungal infection, you also need to use topical antifungal treatment, such as ketoconazole ointment, terbinafine cream.
3. Oral medication: If the symptoms are serious and the effect of external medication is not good, oral antibiotic treatment, such as erythromycin, minocycline, etc.; if there is fungal infection, oral antifungal treatment, such as itraconazole, fluconazole, etc.
4. Surgical treatment: If folliculitis develops into boils or carbuncles, surgical incision and drainage of pus can be taken.
