Pimples after staying up all night belong to acne, and can be improved by general treatment, topical medication, oral medication, phototherapy and other treatments.
1. General treatment: usually pay attention to rest, ensure sleep, drink more water, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, avoid eating spicy and stimulating food or greasy sweets, to reduce the production of acne.
2. Topical medication: If the symptoms are mild, you can use topical retinoic acid drugs, such as retinoic acid ointment, etc. If there is obvious inflammation, you can use topical antibacterial drugs, such as mupirocin ointment, erythromycin ointment, etc.; you can also use topical benzoyl peroxide, which is bactericidal and can dissolve acne; and use topical azelaic acid cream, which is anti-inflammatory and reduces the effect of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
3. Oral medication: for moderate to severe acne, oral antibacterial treatment, such as minocycline, doxycycline, etc.; for severe acne, oral isotretinoin treatment is needed, but this drug has teratogenic side effects and is prohibited for women of childbearing age and pregnant women; for fulminant acne, oral glucocorticosteroid treatment, such as prednisone.
4. Phototherapy: In accordance with the severity of acne, LED red light, blue light, intense pulsed light and other physical therapy can be used to reduce the symptoms.
If the above symptoms do not improve or worsen over a long period of time, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor. The medication should be used according to the doctor’s prescription, not blindly self-medication.
