Children’s thumb burns are treated differently depending on the severity of the burn. If it is a mild burn, the main general treatment, if the burn is more serious, you can be treated with medication, and in severe cases, surgical treatment is required. 1. Mild burns: if the thumb burns the surface erythematous, dry, burning sensation or localized redness and swelling is obvious, there are blisters of varying sizes formed, peel off the skin of the blisters after the trauma of redness, moisture, pain is obvious, this is a mild burn. Finger can be placed under the tap water or immersed in water or cold water soaked towels, gauze pads and other compresses on the wound, and can reduce pain, reduce oozing and edema, the sooner the better. The wound can be cleaned with 1:1000 benzalkonium bromide or 1:2000 chlorhexidine, remove the foreign body, the blister skin should be retained, and if the blister is big, the blister fluid can be extracted with sterilized empty needle. 2. Medium and severe burns: there may be blisters, but after removing the blister skin, the wound surface is slightly wet, red and white, and the pain sensation is slow. Even the wound surface is waxy or charred, or even charred, for moderate to severe burns. Avoid applying colored medication, which increases the difficulty in determining the depth of the burn. Remove deep burned tissue as early as possible and cover it with auto- and allograft skin grafts to promote wound repair and reduce the source of infection. Children should go to the hospital in time after the thumb burn, during the treatment, should follow the doctor’s instructions, safe and reasonable use of drugs, do not self-medication.
