Is it normal to have fluid retention after ureteral bladder reimplantation?

After ureterocystocele reimplantation, there are two kinds of fluid accumulation (mostly hydronephrosis): normal and abnormal, the former is less serious and can be cured by itself, while the latter is more serious and difficult to be cured by itself.
1. Normal situation: After ureterocystectomy, hydronephrosis may continue to exist because the original condition has not been completely relieved, which is a normal manifestation of the recovery stage of the disease, and the amount of fluid accumulation in this kind of situation is usually small or gradually decreasing. Through standardized postoperative care (such as rest, light diet, etc.), it can be cured by itself without special treatment.
2. Abnormal situation: If the hydronephrosis after ureterocystocele reimplantation is more serious than that before surgery, especially if it shows gradual aggravation, it is often caused by ureteral stenosis and reflux and other postoperative complications, which is an abnormal situation after surgery. In such cases, the fluid accumulation symptoms cannot be relieved on their own, and a second surgery is necessary to intervene.
In conclusion, fluid retention after ureterocele reimplantation is not necessarily normal, therefore, this manifestation must be diagnosed under the guidance of the doctor and standardized treatment, do not blindly judge and dispose of it on your own, so as not to intervene inappropriately, resulting in adverse consequences.
