Stomach pain and pancreatic pain are somewhat different in a number of aspects such as pain location, pathogenesis, nature of pain, and associated symptoms. 1. Pain location: the stomach is in the upper abdomen, so the pain is mainly located in the upper abdomen. Pancreatic pain is located in the left mid-upper abdomen, the pain is mainly concentrated in the left mid-upper abdomen, accompanied by severe radiating pain in the back. Because the distance between the pancreas and the stomach is relatively close, patients may be easily confused. 2. Pathogenesis: most cases of stomach pain are caused by excessive gastric acid secretion, indigestion, Helicobacter pylori infection, gastritis, gastric ulcer, gastric cancer and other factors. The main cause of pancreatic pain is poor secretion and excretion of pancreatic juice, blockage of the glandular ducts and thus increased pressure inside the ducts, resulting in exudation of pancreatic juice, and the exudation of pancreatic fluid on the surrounding peritoneum and other tissues to produce stimulation and cause pain. 3. The nature of the pain: stomach pain is mainly paroxysmal pain, manifested as distension, colic, etc., usually after vomiting will have some relief. Pancreatic pain, usually persistent pain, the pain will be relieved when bending down and stooping, and the abdominal pain will not be relieved after vomiting. 4. Related symptoms: patients with stomach pain, usually accompanied by nausea, vomiting, poor appetite and other related symptoms, long-term stomach pain patients may also experience weight loss. Patients with pancreatic pain are usually accompanied by nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, anorexia and other related symptoms, and pancreatic amylase is significantly elevated. Whether it is pancreatic pain or stomach pain, as long as there is discomfort, the patient should go to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
