Intestinal tinnitus is a kind of intermittent gurgling or gas-over-water sound produced during intestinal peristalsis, including physiologic and pathologic; while intestinal cancer is generally mainly manifested by changes in bowel habit and character, which is generally not a precursor of intestinal cancer. Bowel sounds are the sounds produced by the flow of gas and liquid in the intestinal tract during peristalsis. Physiological bowel sounds are generally about 3~5 times per minute; pathological bowel sounds mainly include weakened bowel sounds, hyperactive bowel sounds and so on. Weak bowel sounds are commonly seen in constipation, decreased gastrointestinal motility, electrolyte disorders, etc. Hyperbolic bowel sounds can be seen in acute gastroenteritis, mechanical intestinal obstruction. Bowel cancer is mainly characterized by changes in stool habit and character, such as constipation, diarrhea, alternating between the two, etc. Some patients may have abdominal pain, fatigue, fever, unexplained emaciation and other systemic symptoms. Hyperactive bowel sounds are generally not the precursor of intestinal cancer. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for clear diagnosis and treatment after discomfort occurs.
