There is no authoritative research to show that lotus seed can remove fetal toxicity. Lotus seed is the dried stamen of Lotus japonicus, family Water Lily, with the effect of clearing the heart and fixing the kidney, astringing the essence and stopping bleeding. It is mainly used for treating seminal emission, frequent urination, dysuria, leucorrhea, vomiting of blood, and metrorrhagia (excessive menstrual flow or dribbling). At present, there is no authoritative study that clearly indicates that Lotus Seed has the effect of removing fetus toxin. The adverse effects and contraindications of Lianshu are not clear. Fetal toxicity refers to a condition in which the fetus is attacked by the mother’s evil toxins (mostly heat toxins) during pregnancy, causing a series of symptoms after birth. It is mainly manifested as skin allergic reactions, such as scabies and acne rash. Commonly used medicines include Liang Diaphragm San, Si Reverse Tang, Yin Chen Artemisia Tang’s and so on.
