What are the aftermath symptoms of cerebral infarction

As the functions governed by different parts of the brain are different, the sequelae of cerebral infarction are mainly related to the location of the lesion, the area of the lesion and the treatment, and the common sequelae include sensory-motor dysfunction, language disorder, cognitive dysfunction, urinary and fecal dysfunction and so on.
1. Sensory-motor dysfunction: It is the most common sequelae. It mainly includes hemiplegia, numbness of half-body limbs, crooked mouth, abnormal fine movements, and so on. For example, patients may show weakness of arms and legs, difficulty in lifting, and weakness in unbuttoning (tying) clothes.
2. Language disorders: including aphasia and dysarthria, for example, patients may show intermittent and incoherent pronunciation or they may know what they want to say in their mind, but other people can’t understand what they say.
3. Cognitive dysfunction: It is manifested as confused thinking, memory loss, abnormal mental behavior, etc. For example, the patient may show that his/her speech and work are upside down and lack of regularity and consistency.
4. Urinary and faecal dysfunction: the performance varies according to the location of cerebral infarction. For example, patients may show incontinence or difficulty in urinating and defecating.
Sequelae of cerebral infarction have various manifestations, so patients with cerebral infarction should seek medical treatment as soon as possible and standardize the treatment in order to reduce the occurrence of sequela.
