Proprietary Chinese medicines for calming the liver and subduing yang (suppressing too much yang rising in the liver) include Tianma Hookteng Granules and Cerebral Lixing Pills.
Tianma Hookteng Granules is composed of Tianma, Hookteng, Cassia, Gardenia, Scutellariae Radix, Hyssop, etc. It can calm the liver and extinguish the wind (regulating the liver’s function to get rid of the internal wind), clearing heat and tranquilizing the mind. It is used for headache, dizziness, tinnitus, blurred vision, tremor, insomnia caused by hyperactivity of liver yang (liver yang is over-exuberant, which causes dizziness, dizziness, headache and other symptoms); and for high blood pressure when the above symptoms are seen.
