Fingerprint peeling is considered to be related to physiological factors such as dry skin, but may also be due to ringworm, exfoliative keratolysis and other diseases.
1. Physiological factors: If the skin is dehydrated and dry, it may lead to localized flaking and peeling. In addition, prolonged exposure to chemical agents or more irritating substances may also trigger peeling at the finger lines.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Ringworm: the etiology is mainly related to dermatophyte infection, and the disease may also be induced by factors such as sweaty hands and immunodeficiency diseases. Clinical manifestations are hyperkeratotic lesions on the fingers or palms of the hands, which may also appear flaky and dry.
(2) Exfoliative Keratolysis: The cause of the disease is not yet clear, and it may be related to factors such as bacterial infection, hyperhidrosis, and emotions, etc. It mainly manifests as scaling and peeling, and is commonly seen on the hands and feet.
