How effective is localized radiotherapy for bone metastases from lung cancer?

Local radiotherapy for bone metastasis of lung cancer has better pain-relieving effect, but cannot achieve cure. Lung cancer is prone to bone metastasis and causes pain, local radiotherapy can achieve better pain relief and improve patients’ quality of life. Radiotherapy belongs to local treatment, which has better killing effect on local tumor cells and therefore can relieve pain. Bone metastasis of lung cancer indicates that the tumor load is large, simple radiotherapy can only relieve pain, and systemic treatment is needed to further improve the survival period. Therefore, radiotherapy for bone metastasis of lung cancer can achieve better pain relief, but it needs to be combined with systemic therapy to achieve better curative effect.
