The purple color of shingles may belong to the improvement of the condition, or it may be related to bleeding and infection.
1. Improvement: In the early stage of herpes zoster, the color of the herpes is pink and accompanied by severe pain. With the gradual improvement of the condition, the blisters of herpes zoster will gradually dry up and shrink, and the color will gradually deepen into purple-red.
2. Bleeding: If there is bleeding inside the blisters of shingles, the blood pools inside the blisters, and the color of the blisters will turn purple-red.
3. Infection: If the area is infected by bacteria, not only will itching and pain occur, but there may also be oozing, purple color and other phenomena.
Usually the color change and the severity of the disease is not obvious direct correlation, so it is recommended that patients with herpes zoster regardless of the color should be timely medical treatment, need to follow the doctor’s prescription medication to control the condition.
