For patients with mild refractive errors, wearing glasses for a while and not wearing glasses for a while will generally not cause myopia to worsen. However, for patients with moderate to severe refractive errors, it is likely to cause myopia to deepen.
1. Mild refractive error: the patient’s naked eye vision is relatively good, in daily life does not have a big impact, you can just read the blackboard in class or drive a car and other daily life needs to wear glasses. However, it is not recommended to do so, which will lead to frequent ciliary muscle adjustment and easy fatigue. If refractive error is diagnosed, it is recommended to keep wearing glasses.
2. Moderate to severe refractive error: the patient’s naked eye vision is relatively poor, the impact on daily life is greater, if not continuously wearing glasses, may cause excessive eye adjustment and fatigue, which may increase the refractive error.
For diagnosed refractive errors, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions for correction and regular follow-up.
