There is no such thing as the best way to beat atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis can be treated with medication and surgery.
1. Drug therapy: the main treatment is to control blood lipids, anti-platelet, stabilize plaque and prevent the growth of hardened plaque.
Commonly used lipid-lowering drugs are statins as well as fibrates, such as atorvastatin, pitavastatin, resuvastatin, gemfibrozil, and benzapentolate. Antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin or clopidogrel.
2. Surgical treatment: If the atherosclerotic plaque is severe, resulting in severe stenosis and occlusion of the lumen, endarterectomy and minimally invasive interventional stent implantation can be performed.
Drugs should be under the guidance of specialized physicians.
