What’s wrong with morning sickness?

Morning sickness and nausea can be caused by pregnancy, chronic pharyngitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
1. Pregnancy: Women of childbearing age who experience morning sickness and regurgitation need to be clear about whether there is a possibility of pregnancy, and it is recommended that patients calculate their menstrual cycle and, if necessary, go to the hospital to check the level of blood HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), uterine ultrasound, etc. to make it clear.
2. Chronic pharyngitis: Chronic inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa as well as submucosal and lymphatic tissues will secrete mucus at night, which will accumulate in the pharynx, and the viscous secretion will irritate the pharyngeal mucosa when waking up in the morning, resulting in nausea and regurgitation symptoms.
3. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): GERD is a disease caused by the relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, which leads to the reflux of gastric contents. When gastric acid and gastric juices reflux or reflux to the pharynx, the patient will often experience symptoms of regurgitation and nausea.
When the symptoms of morning reflux and nausea occur frequently, the patient needs to go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out the appropriate examinations to clarify the diagnosis, so as to actively carry out the treatment.
