Cinnamon and nutmeg are different in nature, flavor and meridian, efficacy, and treatment of diseases. For example, cinnamon is hot, pungent and sweet in nature, and belongs to the kidney, spleen, heart and liver meridians; nutmeg is pungent and warm in nature, and belongs to the spleen, stomach and large intestine meridians, so there is a difference in the nature and flavor of these two Chinese medicine tablets.
1. Cinnamon has the efficacy of tonifying fire and assisting yang, inducing fire to return to the source (inhibiting the rise of fire in the kidney), dispersing cold, relieving pain and warming the meridians; nutmeg has the efficacy of warming the middle and moving qi, astringing the intestines and stopping diarrhea (alleviating diarrhea by enhancing the intestinal astringent function). So there is a difference in the efficacy of the two drugs.
2. Cinnamon is used for the treatment of impotence and cold uterus, cold pain in the waist and knees, kidney deficiency for asthma, deficiency Yang floating (relative deficiency of Yang Qi affecting the head and face), dizziness and redness, cold hernia abdominal pain (visceral cold and feel the external wind and cold caused by acute abdominal pain), dysmenorrhea and menstrual closure, and so on.
Nutmeg is used in the treatment of coldness in the spleen and stomach, prolonged diarrhea, distension and pain in the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen), and vomiting with little food. Therefore, there is a difference between these two medicines.
