How to remedy 4.9 normal vision in children

In the case of children with 4.9 visual acuity, correction needs to be made according to the specific cause.
If the child is still in the period of visual development, for example, before the age of 6-8, the child’s naked eye vision is only 4.9 and cannot reach 5.0 after optometry, you can take the child to participate in more outdoor activities, take appropriate vitamin supplements, and have a full examination in the hospital to clarify whether there is any other cause affecting the visual development, such as strabismus, congenital cataracts, and fundus diseases.
If a child has passed the visual development stage and has a visual acuity of 4.9 naked eye but can reach 5.0 or above after optometry, the child may have high hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism, etc., which needs to be corrected with glasses according to the doctor’s recommendation.
If the child has passed the visual development stage and has a visual acuity of only 4.9 and cannot reach 5.0 or above after optometry, the child needs to go to the hospital to find out if there are any factors that may impair his/her vision, such as congenital cataracts or fundus diseases.
It is recommended that children with abnormal vision should seek prompt medical attention to detect and treat the condition in time to avoid complications such as high myopia and amblyopia.
