Empty turbinate syndrome, which refers to empty nose syndrome, also known as empty nose syndrome, is a consequential and difficult to treat medical complication resulting from excessive turbinate removal. It can be treated conservatively and with surgery or implants. Empty Nose Syndrome is a series of concomitant symptoms and atrophy of the nasal mucosa secondary to excessive turbinate removal in patients with nasal diseases. Common symptoms include nasal congestion and dryness of the nasal cavity and/or nasopharynx and pharynx. 1. Conservative treatment:Nasal lavage, or use of compound peppermint oil nasal drops, vitamin A, vitamin B and other drugs under the guidance of the doctor for treatment. For patients with more nasal crusts and nasal odor, topical antibiotic treatment, such as streptomycin nasal drops, may be needed. 2.. Surgery:For patients with severe symptoms, surgical narrowing of the nasal passages can reduce the patient’s symptoms. Currently, the more common surgical methods include intranasal repair surgery, intranasal minimally invasive turbinoplasty, and nasal injection of fillers. Patients with empty nose syndrome are advised to visit the hospital in time.
