Memory loss usually cannot be relied on to do certain actions to improve symptoms, but it can be improved with certain medications such as donepezil and non-pharmacological treatments such as cognitive function training, music training, and psychological support therapy.
Memory loss refers to a generalized decline in recognition, retention, recollection and recall. It is clinically common in Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and metabolic encephalopathy. Young people may also experience temporary memory loss due to poor sleep, anxiety and stress. The following memory function training can be done to improve memory:
1.Medication:
(1) Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors:including Donepezil, Carboplatin, Staphylococcus aureus, etc., which mainly increase the level of acetylcholine in the brain and enhance synaptic transmission.
(2) NMDA receptor antagonists: such as memantine, can have the effect of regulating the activity of glutamate, improve memory and so on.
(3) Sometimes, brain metabolism activators such as olaxetan are also used in clinical practice.
2. Non-pharmacological treatment:
(1) Cognitive function training: memory training through association method, recitation method, decomposition and union method, prompt method and other methods.
(2) Music training: according to the specific situation, targeted play soft, soothing or exciting music, or chanting the patient’s familiar songs.
(3) Psychological support therapy: Use good language, expression, attitude and behavior to influence the patient, help the patient to adjust the bad mindset, correctly recognize the memory loss, and gradually overcome the psychological barriers to accept and improve it.
