Low blood pressure, also known as diastolic blood pressure, is normal if it is 60 mm Hg. In the quiet state, the normal range of blood pressure in adults is 90 to 139 mm Hg for high pressure and 60 to 89 mm Hg for low pressure. Therefore, a low blood pressure of 60 mm Hg is within the normal range and is normal. If the blood pressure is measured at a low pressure <60 mm Hg and/or a high pressure <90 mm Hg, it is hypotension. If the high pressure is ≥140 mm Hg and/or the diastolic pressure is ≥90 mm Hg without the use of antihypertensive medications, it is called hypertension. Blood pressure can determine the function of the heart and peripheral vascular resistance, and is also an important element in diagnosing disease, observing changes in condition and judging the effectiveness of treatment. Blood pressure is regulated by many factors to maintain normal metabolism. Too low or too high blood pressure can have serious consequences. Blood pressure should be monitored regularly in daily life to detect diseases and seek timely medical attention.
