Six-month baby three days without stool can be seen in pathological conditions (such as functional constipation), physiological phenomena, the former is not normal phenomenon, the latter is a normal phenomenon.
1. Pathological conditions:
(1) functional constipation: for six-month-old babies three days without stool, such as with the previous bowel habits compared to the interval between defecation significantly prolonged, or there is a dry stool, affecting defecation, is generally considered to exist in the functional constipation, is not normal.
(2) Congenital megacolon: these babies may have a history of delayed expulsion of fetal stools after birth, and have a history of constipation, and some of them need to use enemas to have smooth bowel movements, and perfect abdominal X-ray examination may assist in the diagnosis, and the symptoms mentioned above may occur during the course of the disease, which is abnormal and requires active intervention.
2. Physiological phenomenon: For 6-month-old babies who used to defecate every other day or once every 1~2 days, regular defecation, the above phenomenon and no dry stools, defecation difficulties, can be considered as a normal phenomenon, continue to observe.
Six-month-old babies who have not had a bowel movement for three days are advised to consult a specialist for a comprehensive assessment to determine whether they are normal.
