How to treat recurrent vulvovaginal pseudohyphomycosis?

Recurrent vulvovaginal pseudomycosis requires initial treatment under the supervision of a physician to achieve mycologic cure, followed by consolidation therapy.
1. Initial treatment: female patients with recurrent Pseudomycosis vulvovaginalis need to complete the culture of vaginal secretions and drug sensitivity test, and choose the drug treatment according to the culture and drug sensitivity test.
Initial treatment can choose topical drugs, such as mycotoxin suppositories or clotrimazole suppositories, or oral drugs such as fluconazole, clotrimazole and so on. During the medication period, it is necessary to extend the treatment time to 7-14 days.
2. Consolidation therapy: when the initial treatment achieves mycological cure, give consolidation therapy for six months. For example, oral fluconazole can be taken once a week for six months.
During the treatment period, attention should be paid to regular review to monitor the efficacy of the treatment and whether there are side effects of the drug, once there are adverse reactions to stop the drug immediately.
It is recommended to pay attention to maintaining perineal hygiene, and wash and change underwear frequently. If there is vaginal itching and other discomforts, we should consult a doctor as soon as possible, and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment, and not blindly use the drug on their own.
