Venlafaxine hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated for all types of depression, including depression with anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder.
Adverse effects of taking this product commonly include weakness and fatigue, hypertension, vasodilation, decreased appetite, increased serum cholesterol, and vertigo. Less commonly, photoallergic reactions, hypotension, postural hypotension, syncope, and tachycardia may occur; very rare adverse reactions include anaphylactic reactions, prolonged QT interval, ventricular fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia.
This product is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the product and its ingredients and in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Children, the elderly, pregnant and breastfeeding women should take this product in accordance with medical advice.
