What are the symptoms caused by enlarged turbinates

Enlarged turbinates can cause nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and decreased sense of smell. In severe cases, it can also cause head discomfort, ophthalmologic and otologic symptoms.
Enlarged turbinate can cause nasal congestion, persistent open-mouth breathing, thick runny nose, accompanied by decreased olfactory function and other local symptoms.
The enlarged turbinate compresses the nasal septum, causing pressure on the pre-sial nerve, resulting in headache, dizziness, insomnia, memory loss, mental depression and other symptoms. When the hypertrophied turbinate affects the function of the eustachian tube opening and nasolacrimal duct, it can manifest as ear pain, tinnitus, tearing, hearing impairment and other symptoms.
If turbinate hypertrophy is suspected or the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to seek early medical treatment as soon as possible.
