What should I do if I have large earwax in my itchy ears?

Itchy ears with large chunks of earwax are often considered as cerumen embolism. You should avoid pulling out the ears, seek medical advice and use professional tools to remove the cerumen.
1. Cerumen hook removal: If the cerumen is shallow and easy to clip, the doctor can use a cerumen hook to remove the cerumen from the external ear canal.
2. Rinsing: If the cerumen in the ear is loose, the cerumen can be rinsed out of the external ear canal using the rinsing method. Warm, sterile saline can be used to gently flush the earwax out of the outer ear canal, and the symptoms will improve once the outer ear canal is cleaned out. If the cerumen is dry and hard, use sodium bicarbonate ear drops to soften the cerumen and then rinse with saline.
3. Suction method: If rinsing is not effective, a suction device can be used to suck out the softened cerumen.
It is recommended that the patient should consult a doctor in time and treat the disease with the help of a professional doctor.
