There is no Sinic Acid in Fangji Huangqi Tang.
Fangji Huangqi Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula from the “Essentials of the Golden Chamber”, which is an expectorant of dampness and contains 4 herbs, namely Fangji, Licorice, Atractylodes Macrocephalae and Astragalus, without the addition of Sinus Rehmanniae. In ancient times, it was used as a decoction with ginger and jujubes, while in modern times it is added to ginger and jujubes and decocted in water.
Fangji Huangqi Tang has the effect of strengthening the spleen by promoting diuresis, benefiting the qi and dispelling wind, and is mainly used to treat rheumatism or wind-water syndrome (sudden edema of the head, face and limbs) in which the epidermal deficiency is not consolidated (the weakness of the muscular epidermis leads to the abnormal outward movement of perspiration), with specific symptoms such as urinary incontinence, sweating (excessive sweating of the skin, fear of wind), heavy and slight swelling of the body, and pain in the joints of the limbs, etc. The side-effects of this formula are not known. Side effects of Fenghi Huangqi Tang are unclear and it is not suitable for those who suffer from water-dampness congestion and swelling.
Fangji Huangqi Tang should be added and reduced according to the patient’s actual condition, the specific use of medication should follow the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, do not take the drug on your own, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
