There are many causes of lameness, which may be due to diseases such as hip tuberculosis, femoral head necrosis, progressive muscular dystrophy, etc.
1. Hip tuberculosis: it is usually caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and related to factors such as low immunity and excessive fatigue. Patients often have symptoms such as loss of appetite, night sweats, fever, etc., accompanied by limping, joint swelling and pain, muscle atrophy and other phenomena. Some of the patients may also be accompanied by limited mobility, joint deformity and so on.
2. Necrosis of the femoral head: the mechanism of this disease is not completely clear, may be related to hip trauma, long-term heavy drinking, the use of glucocorticoids and other factors. Patients often have pain in the hip or groin, accompanied by walking difficulties, stiffness, painful claudication and other phenomena. Some patients may also show limited hip joint activities, lower limb shortening deformity.
3. Progressive muscular dystrophy: this disease is a hereditary disease, mainly related to genetic defects. Patients often appear muscle atrophy, mental retardation and other symptoms, and may also be manifested as walking in a “duck step”, shortening of the Achilles tendon, bending and turning difficulties. Some patients may also experience claudication.
In addition to the above, claudication can be induced by abnormalities of the knee, ankle and other joints. It is recommended that patients with symptoms of claudication should identify the cause of the disease in time and take targeted treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
