What does it mean to have a gastric sinus IIc lesion?

Gastric antrum type IIc lesions are superficial depressed lesions found at the gastric antrum under gastroscopy, which need to be diagnosed in conjunction with pathologic biopsy. The structure of the stomach is observed under gastroscopy and can be categorized into three types based on the morphology of the lesion; type III lesions are depressed; type II lesions are superficial; and type I lesions are elevated. Among them, type II lesions are further divided into three subtypes, of which, IIc is superficial depressed, IIb is superficial flat, and IIa is superficial elevated. Therefore, gastric sinus IIc is a gastroscopic finding of superficial depressed lesions in the area of the gastric sinus. Generally gastric sinus IIc lesions need to go to the hospital for pathologic biopsy to detect whether the lesion tissue is cancerous.
