Spleen-Qi deficiency plus Spleen-Yang deficiency can be regulated by taking medication, dietary regimen and moxibustion.
1. Taking medicines: Spleen qi deficiency can be treated with Sijunzi Pills and Spleen Enhancement Pills to improve symptoms such as weakness, poor appetite, fatigue, bloating, and loose stools (thin, unformed feces) caused by spleen qi deficiency. Spleen yang deficiency can be treated with Xiao Jian Zhong Tablets and Li Zhong Wan to improve symptoms such as pain in the epigastrium (pain in the stomach and abdomen), vomiting, diarrhea, and dyspepsia due to spleen yang deficiency.
The adverse effects of all the above drugs are not known. The contraindications of Sijunzi Pill, Spleen Enhancement Pill and Xiao Jianzhong Tablet are not clear. The contraindication of Lizhong Pill is that it should not be taken by those who suffer from heat, distension and pain in the abdomen during diarrhea.
2. Dietary adjustments: usually can be appropriate to eat more with the spleen and qi effect of food and medicine with food, such as yam, fructus cornus, and so on.
3. Moxibustion: you can choose Shen Que, the center of the stomach, foot San Li and other points. Shen Que is in the middle of the navel, which can strengthen the spleen and stomach; the middle epigastric region is 4 inches above the navel, which can strengthen the spleen and regulate qi; the foot Sanli is 3 inches below the calf’s nose, which can strengthen the spleen and stomach.
