The exact location of the pubic bone is directly below the abdomen, on the medial part of the thighs on both sides. The pubic bone is an important part of the pelvis, and the two pubic bones are joined together by fibrocartilaginous tissue as well as ligaments to form the pubic symphysis. The pubic symphysis is located directly below the lower abdomen, on the medial part of each thigh, and can be reached by touching the pubic hair area in front of the perineum. It is located on the lower anterior portion of the hip bone. The right-angled structure formed by the inferior branches of the pubic bones on each side below the pubic symphysis is called the pubic arch, and the normal value is 90°. If the angle of the pubic arch is less than 80°, it is an abnormal manifestation, called pubic arch stenosis, suggesting that the transverse diameter of the pelvic outlet is relatively small, which may have some impact on the delivery of the fetus and cause obstructed labor.
