Can you eat water fish for gout?

Gout is not recommended to eat water fish.
Gout is a metabolic disease, mainly caused by uric acid excretion disorder or purine metabolism disorder. Gout patients need to be careful not to eat too much food with high purine content.
Water fish usually refers to snappers, purine content is relatively high, every 100g edible part contains about 110mg purine, belong to the purine food, a large amount of food will lead to too much uric acid in the body, increase the risk of gout attack, therefore, gout patients are not recommended to eat water fish, especially gout attack period.
Gout patients should avoid high purine food intake, such as animal liver, seafood, beef and mutton, etc., pay attention to drink more water, appropriate physical exercise, quit smoking and alcohol.
Gout patients are advised to go to the rheumatology and immunology department of regular hospitals and other related departments for detailed consultation, and follow the doctor’s instructions for a reasonable diet.
